Leon County Supervisor of Elections Provides Election Day Update for 2026 Primary Election
Leon County, FL – Mark S. Earley, Supervisor of Elections for Leon County provides an Election Day update for the 2026 Primary Election. “We had a smooth opening of the polls today,” said Supervisor Earley. “All polling places opened on time this morning at 7 a.m. and will remain open through 7 p.m. If you have yet not voted in the 2026 Primary Election, today is your last chance. I encourage every registered voter to use your voice by heading to the polls and casting your ballot."
All registered voters, including voters registered with No Party Affiliation, have a ballot in this election. On Election Day, voters need to cast a ballot at their assigned polling place. Voters are strongly encouraged to check their polling place assignment before heading out to vote. Voters can find their assigned polling place on their voter information card, their election guide, online at LeonVotes.gov/YourVoterInfo, or by calling the Elections Office at (850) 606-8683.
In order to be counted, Vote-by-Mail ballots must be received by the Election Office by 7 p.m. on Election Day. Voters who still possess their Vote-by-Mail ballots should not put them in the mail today, as they will not be received in time to count. Instead, voters should hand-deliver their Vote-by-Mail ballot to Elections Office at 2990-1 Apalachee Parkway. Vote-by-Mail ballots must be returned in the special envelope, with the voter’s signature and date signed. Alternatively, voters who have not yet returned their mail ballot can still cast an in-person ballot at their Election Day polling place.
Initial election night results will be posted to LeonVotes.gov starting shortly after 7 p.m. Results will be updated throughout the evening as ballots are counted. However, the results will not be complete until August 25, when the Leon County Canvassing Board meets to certify the official results.
