Early Voting

Early Voting lets you avoid long lines, and vote when and where it is most convenient for you. All registered Leon County voters can chose to vote early.

Each Early Voting site also has a drop box you can use to return your Vote-by-Mail ballot. You can learn more about them on our drop box webpage.

When Is Early Voting Available?

Early Voting is part of each election here in Leon County. State law sets a minimum of eight days of Early Voting, but here in Leon County we offer additional days of Early Voting. That way, you have more flexibility and options when casting your ballot. 

Early Voting Dates - 2026

  • 2026 Primary Election Early Voting: Saturday, August 8 - Sunday, August 16
  • 2026 General Election Early Voting: Monday, October 19 - Sunday, November 1

Where Can I Vote Early?

There are 10 Early Voting sites in Leon County. You can vote at any Early Voting site of your choice. Visit our Early Voting locations map page to get directions to any of the locations.

Who Can Vote Early?

All registered Leon County voters can use Early Voting.

If you have moved into Leon County from another Florida county, but have not yet updated your voter registration record, we can update it at the Early Voting site. That way, you can cast your ballot here. You can also update your voter record before going to vote by using Florida's Online Voter Registration System.

Do I Need ID to Vote Early?

You must bring ID when you visit an Early Voting site. Learn more on our Voter ID page

If you do not have acceptable ID, you can vote using a provisional ballot.

Can I Drop Off my Vote-by-Mail Ballot?

Each Early Voting site has a Secure Ballot Intake Station (also known as a drop box). You can drop off a Leon County Vote-by-Mail ballot into the drop box at any Early Voting site during voting hours. For further information, please visit our drop box page.
