Primary Election Day is August 18, 2026.

Need to Register to Vote?

The deadline to register to vote for the Primary Election is July 20, 2026. If you want to change your party affiliation, you must do so by this deadline for it to be in effect for the Primary Election. 

You can register to vote online by visiting RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov, Florida's online voter registration system. You will need your Florida driver's license or ID card, and the last four digits of your Social Security number to register completely online. If you do not have a Florida Driver's license or ID card, you can use the system to generate a paper voter registration application. You can then print and mail the paper application.

Already Registered in Florida?

If you are already registered to vote in Florida, it's important that you double-check your voter registration record to make sure it is up to date. You can find your voter registration record using our online voter information lookup.

Want to Vote-by-Mail?

If you want to Vote-by-Mail, then you need to request your ballot. You can request your Vote-by-Mail ballot using any of these options:

You do not need an excuse or reason to Vote-by-Mail. A single request is good for all elections though the end of the current election cycle.

The deadline to request that we mail you a Vote-by-Mail ballot is August 6.  However, you can pick up a Vote-by-Mail ballot in-person up to and including Election Day. Learn more on our Vote-by-Mail webpage.

Track your Ballot

You can sign up to receive notifications about your mail ballot’s status through BallotTrax. With BallotTrax, you can receive email or text notifications when your ballot is mailed, when we receive it, and when we count it. You can also track the status of your ballot using the Voter Information Lookup.

Know Where you are Voting?

Early Voting is available from Saturday, August 8 - Sunday, August 16. You can vote at any of the 10 Early Voting sites in Leon County. Visit our Early Voting page to view locations and times.

On Election Day, Tuesday August 18, you must vote at your assigned polling place. You can find your polling place on your voter information card, by using the Voter Information Lookup, or by calling us at (850) 606-8683.

Have Voter ID?

When you vote in person at an an Early Voting site or at your Election Day polling place, you must first present a physical current and valid photo ID that includes your signature. Learn more on our Voter ID page

These are the important dates for the Election:.

  • Deadline to Register to Vote and  change party affiliation: July 20 
  • Last day to request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot be mailed: August 6 
  • Early Voting Period: August 8 - August 16
  • Election Day: August 18
