The 2026 General Election is fast approaching! Make sure you are Election Ready so you can cast your ballot! You can get ready by reviewing the important information and resources on this page.

General Election Day is November 3, 2026.

Sample ballots for the 2026 General Election are now available!

By reviewing your sample ballot, you can see the specific races and candidates that will appear on your ballot. This is a great way to get Election Ready!

If you want to Vote-by-Mail, then you need to request your ballot. You can request your Vote-by-Mail ballot using any of these options:

You do not need an excuse or reason to Vote-by-Mail. A single request is good for all elections though the end of the current election cycle.

The deadline to request that we mail you a Vote-by-Mail ballot is October 22.  However, you can pick up a Vote-by-Mail ballot in-person up to and including Election Day. Learn more on our Vote-by-Mail webpage.

The 2026 General Election ballot includes 11 ballot questions. All Leon County voters will have these 11 items on their ballot. We encourage you to review these items before heading out to vote.

The deadline to register to vote for the General Election is October 5, 2026. 

You can register to vote online by visiting RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov, Florida's online voter registration system. You will need your Florida driver's license or ID card, and the last four digits of your Social Security number to register completely online. If you do not have a Florida Driver's license or ID card, you can use the system to generate a paper voter registration application. You can then print and mail the paper application.

If you are already registered to vote in Florida, it's important that you double-check your voter registration record to make sure it is up to date. You can find your voter registration record using our online voter information lookup.

Early Voting is available from Monday, October 19 - Sunday, November 1. You can vote at any of the 10 Early Voting sites in Leon County. Visit our Early Voting page to view locations and times.

On Election Day, Tuesday November 3, you must vote at your assigned polling place. You can find your polling place on your voter information card, by using the Voter Information Lookup, or by calling us at (850) 606-8683.

When you vote in person at an an Early Voting site or at your Election Day polling place, you must first present a physical current and valid photo ID that includes your signature. Learn more on our Voter ID page.

  • Deadline to Register to Vote: October 5 
  • Last day to request a Vote-by-Mail Ballot be mailed: October 22 
  • Early Voting Period: October 19 - November 1
  • Election Day: November 3

During the 2026 legislative session, the Florida Legislature passed a new election law. The portions of the law that affect voter registration and voting go into effect on 1/1/2027.  This law will not have an impact on voter registration or voting in the 2026 elections.
