Leon County Supervisor of Elections Announces Early Voting Schedule for 2026 Primary Election and Mails Election Guides
Leon County, FL – Mark S. Earley, Supervisor of Elections for Leon County, announces the Early Voting schedule for the 2026 Primary Election. “Starting on Saturday, August 8, and running through Sunday, August 16, Leon County voters can cast ballots for the Primary Election at ten Early Voting locations,” said Supervisor Earley. “I encourage voters to consider voting early as a way of avoiding lines on Election Day.”
The benefits of Early Voting include shorter wait times, over 300 combined hours of weekend voting availability, and the flexibility to vote at any Early Voting site in Leon County. As part of its mission to expand voting access, the Elections Office now offers additional hours of Early Voting at the Leon County Elections Center, with voting starting at 8:30 a.m. at this location. The full list of Early Voting hours and locations can be found below, in the Election Guide, and at LeonVotes.gov.
Voters can drop off a Vote-by-Mail ballot at any Early Voting site during voting hours. Each site has a secure ballot intake station staffed by an election worker, so voters can return their Vote-by-Mail ballots directly to the Elections Office. The Elections Office must receive Vote-by-Mail ballots by 7 p.m. on Election Day, August 18 for them to be counted. Any ballots received after this deadline will not count, so voters are encouraged to return their ballots soon.
The Elections Office is mailing a copy of the Official Election Guide to each Leon County voter this week. Voters can expect to receive their Election Guide in the next few days. The Guide contains generic sample ballots for the Primary, and is full of valuable information about where, when, and how voters can cast their ballots in the August 18 Primary Election. "I encourage all voters to carefully read their Election Guide, so they will be Election Ready for the Primary,” said Supervisor Earley.
