Leon County Supervisor of Elections Reminds Voters of Voter Registration and Party Change Deadline for 2026 Primary Election
Leon County, FL – Mark S. Earley, Supervisor of Elections for Leon County, reminds voters that Monday, July 20 is the last day to register to vote or to change political party affiliation in time for the August 18 Primary Election. “I encourage all eligible Leon County residents to register to vote, or if you are already registered, make sure your voter registration record is updated with your desired party affiliation and current address,” said Supervisor Earley. “Voters have several options to register in Leon County, and my office will stay open late on July 20 to ensure that everyone has the opportunity to register or change their party.”
Voters may register or change their political party using any of these methods:
- Online at RegistertoVoteFlorida.gov (complete by 11:59 p.m. on July 20).
- Mail a voter registration form to PO Box 7357, Tallahassee, FL 32314-7357 (must be postmarked by July 20).
- Visit the Leon County Supervisor of Elections Office at 2990-1 Apalachee Parkway (corner of Apalachee Pkwy and Capital Circle SE). Office hours are extended to 7 p.m. on July 20.
Voters who are registered by the July 20 deadline can vote in the Primary Election. All voters can vote in the nonpartisan contests on the ballot. In addition, voters registered with a party can vote in partisan contests for the candidates they want to represent their party in the November General Election. Some races will be decided entirely during the Primary Election, so voters who do not vote in the Primary will miss their chance to vote in those contests.
Voters can view their current voter registration information, including party affiliation, at LeonVotes.gov/YourVoterInfo. Voters can also use the same site to view their Primary Election sample ballot that lists the specific races and candidates that will appear on their official ballot.
Voters with questions are encouraged to contact the Supervisor of Elections Office at Vote@LeonVotes.gov, or (850) 606-8683, Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5 p.m., with hours extended to 7 p.m. on July 20.
