Residents of Leon County have the option to create and support initiatives to change the Leon County Charter and the Florida Constitution. In addition, residents of Tallahassee can support initiatives to change city ordinances. This process is known as a citizen initiative.

Visit the Division of Elections’ website for information about the initiative process for changes to Florida’s Constitution. On this page you can also view a list of proposed constitutional amendments.
Sponsors of citizen initiatives must pay 40 cents per petition verified. The fee must be paid upon submission of a batch of petitions (100.371(11)(b),F.S.).
