Identification Required to Vote Per Florida Law, current and valid IDs are required at early voting sites and election day polls.(§101.043, F.S.)
For quick Voter check-in: Your Florida Drivers License or Florida ID Card can be swiped on the
E-Poll Book.

Any combination of the following that show picture and signature are acceptable:

  • Florida Drivers License or Florida ID (as issued by the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles).
  • United States Passport
  • Debit or Credit Card
  • Military ID
  • Student ID
  • Retirement Center ID
  • Neighborhood Association ID
  • Public Assistance ID
  • Veteran Health ID issued by the United States Department of Veterans Affairs
  • A Concealed Weapon/Firearm License issued pursuant to §790.06, F.S.
  • Employee ID issued by any branch, department, agency, or entity of the Federal Government, the state, a county, or a municipality.

NOTE: The Voter Information cards issued by the Supervisor of Elections are NOT considered valid identification for voting.

CLOSED PRIMARY

Florida is a CLOSED Primary State

Florida Law requires Voters to vote in the party with which the Voter is registered when the registration books closed for that Primary Election. (§101.021, F.S.) DEADLINE WAS JULY 20,2020.

NOTE: This does not include Nonpartisan races that may be on the ballot (examples: Referendums, Nonpartisan Offices, etc...). Any Voter may vote regardless of their party on any of these races should they be on a Primary ballot. The Closed Primary only extends to partisan races on the Primary ballot (Party Nominations, etc...).

ELECTION DAY INFORMATION

Precinct Information

On Election Day, the polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Registered Voters are required to vote at the precinct assigned to their legal residence.

Access to Polls

Per Florida Law (§102.031(3), F.S.), the only persons allowed inside the polling place during voting hours include:

  • Election workers
  • Voters assigned to the precinct who are there to vote
  • Voters requiring assistance in voting
  • Official poll watchers approved for the precinct by the Supervisor (§101.131, F.S.)
  • The Supervisor of Elections and/or elections staff
  • Law enforcement/emergency service personnel (if needed)

 

Assistance in Voting

Florida Law (§101.051 F.S.) prohibits anyone from being with the Voter when they casts their vote unless the Voter has previously requested a need for assistance.

If not previously identified as requiring assistance, the Voter must complete an affidavit before anyone will be permitted to accompany the Voter into the voting booth.

If the Voter does not bring a person to provide assistance, two Inspectors of different political affiliations must accompany the Voter to the voting booth.
