Senior Accounting Specialist

Highly independent position providing accounting, budgeting, bookkeeping, planning, and project management support to the Leon County Supervisor of Elections Office. This position works under the direction of the Administrative Services Director and in regular partnership with other staff members and partners throughout Leon County government to help assure the responsible and transparent use of public funds. This team member coordinates needs for payables, purchasing cards, receivables, payroll processing and reporting, budget tracking, and election-specific and special financial projects. They also assist with accounting adjustments, internal and external audits, grants management, statistical analysis, and budget development.

Information Technology Director

This is an executive level professional position on the management team at the Leon County Supervisor of Elections Office (SOE). The Information Technology (IT) Director is a highly demanding position that requires managing and protecting technology for the successful conduct of elections, supervising technical staff, creating and maintaining documentation, and budgeting for technology needs. The IT Director supports the SOE’s mission and maintains operational continuity. The person in this position works closely with Leon County’s Office of Information and Technology (OIT) Department and must be available to respond to all technical issues and external threats and coordinate appropriate responses for the SOE office. This role will often require technical support hours outside the traditional business schedule in order to monitor and assure the functionality and security of computer and network systems.

The Elections Office hires seasonal employees to assist with conducting each election cycle. Starting in the spring of 2022, applicants can begin applying for seasonal positions for the 2022 election cycle. Information will be posted here once the positions become available.

Applications for people wanting to serve as poll workers in Election Day polling places are welcome year-round. For more information on how to apply to be a poll worker click here.

The Elections Office uses volunteers to assist with staffing voter outreach events that take place throughout Leon County and other activities. Since these events track with the election cycle, they occur periodically throughout the year. If you are interested in assisting with these events, or volunteering in other ways with the Elections Office, please complete a Volunteer Application and your information will be added to our volunteer contacts database. You will then receive notifications about volunteer opportunities as they become available.

The Elections Office does not accept applications to be a poll watcher directly from individual voters. Instead, applications are submitted by political parties or campaigns. If you are interested in being a poll watcher, please contact a local political party organization or candidate's campaign.
